I used to love—and I don’t get to see it much anymore—Friday Night Lights. […] When I do get to see it now, there’s still such a wonderful quality that goes into the work: the actors, the writing, and the whole way it looks. It’s just a beautiful show. I am from Texas. But please tell people, it’s not a football show! I think that there’s such confusion about that. Football lies there underneath the whole thing but it’s just a damn good slice-of-life drama.
